The Roman House of Bulgari has a rich heritage and has gained recognition for its unsurpassed excellence in jewellery and watchmaking.
The Roman House of Bulgari was founded in 1884 by a talented jeweller of Greek origin - Sotirio Bulgaris, who moved to Italy and opened his first shop selling gold and silver pieces. In 1932 the business was taken over by Sotirio's sons, who made the brand even more popular and for the first time changed the second letter U in the brand name to the letter V. This spelling is common in Latin and is therefore a reminder of the brand's Roman origins.
Sotirio's sons decided to focus on high jewellery art and use only noble metals and bright stones, which later became the brand's recognisable trademark. At the end of the 1940s, in search of new solutions, the brothers created the first watch with the branded Tubogas bracelet, which is still a trademark of the brand today. One of the brothers starts to actively develop the watch business and later the famous Serpenti collection is presented to the world.
Today, BVLGARI continues to delight its fans around the world with its unique watch collections, preserving the age-old traditions of Italian craftsmanship in both jewellery and watchmaking. Each BVLGARI watch is not just an accessory, but a true work of art that embodies luxury, style and impeccable quality.
